Chris and Michael Sims
Over 35 years ago, while working as a real estate broker, Chris Sims observed a few homes being demolished and rebuilt in one of Houston’s historic neighborhoods. He found himself feeling inspired by the potential to positively influence his hometown’s future landscape. He quickly became an eager student of residential building science and architectural design and built his first custom home in West University in 1988.
As Chris’s son, Michael, began showing signs of the same passion, design sense, and eye for detail that his dad had, he became an eager student as well. From sweeping jobsites as a summer job, to analyzing architectural plans as a family pastime, Michael was lucky to grow up with Houston’s best custom builder as his mentor. Following college graduation, Michael officially joined the Sims Luxury Builders team as a Construction Manager / Project Manager. After successfully building many single-family custom homes as well as leading the development of the Riva at the Park condo high-rise, Michael took over leadership of Sims Luxury Builders upon Chris’s retirement in 2019.
Just like our beloved city, we’ve grown over the years, but we remain a close-knit family business, driven by the same passion and core values upon which Chris built this company all those years ago. Every member of our team still shares the same goal: to build your home to the highest standard and to ensure that you have a smooth and enjoyable experience along the way. That’s the bond that holds us together, and it’s the engine behind everything we do.
