Throughout our 35 years building custom homes in Houston, we’ve been lucky enough to bring home many awards recognizing our team’s hard work and dedication. This year, we’re especially grateful to have received the Star Award for Best Historic Renovation (over $1 million) in the entire state of Texas!
Originally built in 1939, this historic home in River Oaks was in desperate need of some TLC. We worked tirelessly with Mirador group as the architecture and interior design team to reimagine and rebuild several key spaces within the home, including the front living room, family room, kitchen, wine room, third-floor attic, garage apartment, and two upstairs primary bedroom suites. Cosmetic updates were made to all other areas of the home as well. Beyond the interior, the home’s exterior was completely reconfigured, from removing balconies at the front and rear elevations to modernizing the front entry and reworking the back of the home with an expansive window and door system. While several historic elements of the home were thoughtfully restored (windows, stair treads, and handrails), many others needed to be replaced and modernized in order to create a high-performing and healthy home again (mechanical systems, roof, insulation, flooring, cabinetry, finishes).

The Texas Star Awards were launched in 1992 as a way to pay tribute to excellence in the homebuilding industry throughout the state of Texas. Now, the Star Awards have expanded to include project submissions throughout the southwest region of the United States. We are honored to be recognized among the many extraordinary custom home projects that take place not just in our beloved Houston, but throughout our state and region.
